As a caring corporate citizen, KMR’s main objective with its CSI Initiatives is to uplift the lives of the most vulnerable (women, young children, and the elderly) in the communities around the mine. Through some of our CSI initiatives, we improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged, and our focus areas are mainly Education, Health and Food Security.
Annual CSI Projects
KMR has three standing annual CSI Projects:
- Back to School Campaign – Distribution of school shoes in Primary schools and Sanitary Towels to High Schools in the John Taolo Gaetsewe (“JTG”) District. This project takes place at the beginning of every year.
- Mandela Day Blanket Drive – In honour of the First Black President of the country, every year on Nelson Mandela’s birthday we honour the former President by distributing blankets to the elderly in the villages in the JTG District.
- Christmas Hampers – Every December, we distribute Food Hampers to the elderly in the villages in and around the JTG District.
